Let’s start with a little bit of history, for you brides who are interested in the origin of such wedding venues as this. Events at Haven, a stunning venue located in the Lakeview District of Birmingham, Alabama, is located in a historical building that was once used by the Mack Truck company. The building was originally built in 1924 and was used for almost 90 years for industrial purposes.
In 2014, the owners of the building (who are still the current owners) decided to renovate the building, and bring it up to date and modernize the venue in a way that still honors its history. The finished restoration is a beautiful incorporation of its original 1920s aesthetic with contemporary details that bring it into the modern world. Some of the historical features include huge restored glass windows (hello natural light!), exposed trusses, and even the original brick walls from 1924. How cool is that?!
Let’s talk where you will have your actual ceremony! When it comes to choosing where to host your ceremony in the actual building of Events at Haven, there are many things to consider. Events at Haven offers a variety of ceremony options for brides to choose from. These options include a massive 20,000 square feet of space that can be utilized for larger weddings as well as options to partition off spaces for a smaller wedding. It really can be customized to fit your unique needs… let the dreaming begin!!
I am so glad you asked! This wedding venue is truly one of the most customizable out there, especially in the Birmingham/Downtown area. It can be hard to find a venue that you can truly make your own. Here are just 3 of the things that make Events at Haven so wonderful!
As far as numbers go, the maximum capacity for events here is 1,100 people, so there is no need to worry about reaching a limit even for larger ceremonies. Wahoo!
Lucky for you, Events at Haven offers bar services with a permanent bar set-up, so if you plan to have a reception with alcohol, you will have everything you need on-site. This is awesome news for couples who are wanting to simplify the amount of vendors they hire!
Again, wonderful news for you! Events at Haven also has in-house audio/visual services for your ceremony and reception needs. If you need a stage for your wedding, you’re in luck: Events at Haven features a 12’x24′ stage, which includes professional-grade stage lighting to help create the perfect atmosphere when capturing those magical wedding moments. Stages are a great option for giving speeches at rehearsal dinners, or hosting other special moments on a stage where guests will be able to easily view what is going on without worrying about obstruction. (This is also really great for couples who are wanting to hire a live band for their reception!)
